I want to talk about a website called IELTS Free Training, which is a website I use and check every day.
This is a website dedicated for the preparation of the IELTS exam. It is updated on a daily basis and is maintained by an ex-IELTS examiner called Simon.
I don't really remember how I found out about this website, but I guess it popped out when I was googling for some IELTS materials on the web about two years ago. Since then, I've been using and reading its contents every day.
Of all the IELTS related websites available on the Internet, I think this is the most useful one because of the following reasons. Firstly, we can expect a new IELTS lesson every day, and the lesson could be for the Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking part. Secondly, besides IELTS materials, Simon also gives us plenty of useful advice on grammar and tips to get high scores for this challening exam. And thirdly, which I think is the most important, visitors of this website can make comments and/or ask questions, which makes things more interactive and productive at the same time.
All in all, this is a wonderful website that I recommend it to everyone preparing for the IELTS.

Well, the first company that popped up in my mind after I read the topic of this cue card is known as ‘The rainfall’ and this is a readymade garments manufacturer in our hometown. In just 4-5 years this company has gained a huge popularity in the local and in some foreign markets and has expanded from a 10 employee-run company to a workplace for more than few hundred employees. In term of their success, I can say that this company is the role-model for many newly established companies in this same sector.
‘The rainfall’ is an interesting name and in a TV interview one of the founding members of this company told the history of this company and according to him the day they decided to establish this company was a rainy day and it was pouring heavily and ceaselessly.
Since this company is located in our hometown where I have observed their first establishment till their latest expansion in the capital city, I know most of the history of this company. One of the founding members is a relative of one of my friends and I have visited the main office of this company more than once.
This company mainly produces readymade garments for ladies and gents of all ages and then it sell those products to local and international brands. The ready made dresses this company mainly works on includes jeans pants, cardigans, polo shirt, T-shirt and trousers. Recently they have started making kids items which are also gaining huge popularity. Their business includes manufacturing and packing the readymade garments, marketing those products and branding. So far they have achieved huge success and they are doing a great business.
I would define their success basically in three ways. First, the expansion of the company is quite remarkable. They initially had a small factory and an office room with not more than 10-12 employees. This was probably not more than 6 years ago and in the next few years, they have become one of the largest readymade garments in our area. They now employ more than 4-5 hundred employees and have 7-8 offices in different locations. Second, their revenue must have gone higher than any other similar company in our area. They are doing better and bigger business and that has made it possible for the owners to become successful in this sector. Finally, the brand popularity of this company is quite enviable. A Positive change in your life
The one positive change in my life was joining the IELTS course.
* I had learnt English before that.
* I started learning English in my school days but when I joined IELTS, I was

- We keep receiving free offers from many shopping stores from time to time.
- What we do not realize is that these are simply tactics to lure us to buy more and more
- Here, I would like to talk about a steel dinner set, which I got for free from the ‘More’ store in my hometown
- They had a scheme that if anyone did shopping worth 20,000 in three months, i.e. from Jan 1st to 31st March, there would be this steel dinner set of 20 pieces for free.
- I was lured by the offer and started doing all my household shopping of fruits and vegetables and grocery from ‘More’.
- I told everyone in my family to do all purchasing from ‘More’ and give my phone number while getting the billing done.
- We did not do any unnecessary shopping and purchased only the things we needed.
- At first it looked, we wouldn’t reach the mark of 20000
- But surprisingly, by the end of March, we had a sale of 20,100.
- We got the steel set on 7th April for free.
- It was a beautiful set because my cousin take this from us
- We have started using it.
- There were four plates, four glasses, four spoons and four big bowls and four small bowls
- The steel was also of good quality
- The MRP on the box was 1900/-
- We are also otherwise happy with the services of the store
- So, this is the thing I got for free.

Talk about a clever decision made by someone to solve a problem
- There are many situations in life when we face problems and feel helpless
- Some people just give up, whereas others try to solve those problems with whatever they have at hand
- My brother, Danial, is one such person, who comes up with clever ideas to solve things
- I remember one such situation when with his clever idea, he saved us all from a very embarrassing situation
- It was my cousin Monica’s wedding and she was wearing a net lehanga with a very big flare.
- After she came home from the beauty parlorWe were already getting late, and we were all going to the wedding palace, her sandal got stuck with her lehanga and the hem came off from the bottom
- We were already getting late
- There was no time to take it off and hem it and then wear it again
- Monica was on the verge of tears
- Then my brother thought of a clever idea
- He ran inside and brought out his stapler and stapled the dress from below very neatly
- It didn’t show at all and we all heaved a sigh of relief
- When we told our other relatives about the whole incident, they were very amazed at my brother’s presence of mind
- So, this was the clever solution taken by my brother Danial

Just last week I spent some time with a child, in fact, it was my best friend’s son, Peter. He’s seven years old now and we spent some time together when his parents had to go to an appointment. It was basically a babysitting mission, a favor for my friend. I took my boyfriend with me for some help, and we both looked after Peter for the afternoon.
We went to my friend’s house and spent some time there catching up with each other before they had to leave. Then we took my friend’s son out to a park nearby where they live. He was really excited about going out. Apparently he loves going to this park with his parents so we thought it would be a good idea if we took him so that he wouldn’t miss his parents so much while they were away.
Anyway, we spent ages playing on the swings and climbing and just having fun, and he loved playing rough with my boyfriend, they were tumbling and rolling all over the place having a great time. I’m really happy that my boyfriend loves kids like this and is really interested in enjoying time with them.
Watching him play with Peter was just like watching two kids playing together, I think he enjoyed the time in the park as much as little Peter did to be honest, maybe even more. My boyfriend doesn’t have any nieces or nephews in his family so it was all a bit of a novelty for him.
So after our time at the park we went to get some ice cream at a place close to the park. And after that we took him home to get him cleaned up a bit before his parents returned. By the time they got back he was ecstatic to see them again and spent ages telling them all about is adventures in the park and how good the ice cream was. He really is a super little boy and I love him very much.
I’m already looking forward to the next time we spend some time with him.

Describe a plant/flower in your country
I can tell you about Periwinkle, commonly known as Sada Bahar in my country. It’s one of the most popular plants here. It is an evergreen subshrub or herbaceous plant growing to 1 m tall. The leaves are oval to oblong, 2–9 cm long and 1–3 cm broad, glossy green, hairless, with a pale midrib and a short petiole; they are arranged in opposite pairs. The flowers are white to dark pink with a darker red centre. The fruit is a pair of follicles. In the wild, it is an endangered plant; the main cause of decline is habitat destruction by slash and burn agriculture. It is also however widely cultivated and is naturalised in subtropical and tropical areas of the world.
My first memory of this pink flower (which I later found out was called the periwinkle) was at my Grandmas place. Every morning she would water the sandy flower beds from which the periwinkles sprang up. I loved watching them nodding at the sun and dancing in the wind. Periwinkles grow perpetually all year through and are also available in shades of white and purple.
Periwinkle is very easy to grow. Just pluck a branch from another plant and stick it in well drained soil. Soon roots will grow and the pink flowers will multiply. I picked a four inch branch one year ago from someone's garden and today I have a flowerbed overflowing with periwinkle flowers.
I think this is one of the most popular ornamental plants we have, and it is used in medicine as well. Today, the leaves and roots of the periwinkle are used in the pharmaceutical industry and in ayurvedic medicines to treat different diseases like diabetes, hypertension and cancer.

During my school time, I was very weak in English Language. Hence to improve my English Language skills, I had to attend few English classes. Among the classes I have attended, few were quite boring, except the one class which was very interesting and I enjoyed attending that class a lot. So here i would share my experience about attending that enjoyable class.
The lesson was basically related to English Grammar. But this class was different, as in this class the more significance was given to advanced grammar, and less on simple grammar. And only in this class, for the first time, I learned about Advanced Grammar, before that I had no idea about this form of grammar.
I attended this class in my school. At that time, I was in 10th class. And this happened some 4 years ago. This class was presented by Mr. ___________ . He is an English language Trainer.
I learned plethora of skills from this class. I was introduced with numerous useful tips and tricks on how to improve grammar. Apart from this, he made us aware of articles, linking verbs, modals & semi-modals, determiners and many more topics related to grammar.
Honestly saying, I enjoyed this class a lot. But there’s a reason behind my interest in this class. Normally, students find grammar class uninteresting and tiresome. Even a class of 15 minutes can make student feel sleepy. But in this class, everyone, including myself were excited and were paying full attention towards the lesson.Mr. _______ teaching style was very interesting. I learned so much from this, but unfortunately, I still make mistake in grammar.
So this was all about an English lesson that I enjoyed.

Talk about an occasion you had a cake that was special
Well, I in my life I have tasted so many birthday cakes, anniversary cakes, and marriage cakes. But after reading the word “special cake”, there’s only one cake which I think is special. So here I would talk about it.
It is a red velvet cake. Red Velvet cake is a red or red-brown layer cake and this cake is usually topped with yummy cream cheese frosting. Unlike normal cakes, this cake has a blood red interior.It'ss common ingredients include buttermilk, butter, cocoa, and flour for the cake, beetroot for the colour.
As it is commonly served on Christmas or Valentine's Day, So I got chance to taste this cake last year.
I tasted this cake in a Christmas Party held at Hyatt Hotel in Ludhiana. Overall, it was a Christmas party with lots of fun and games. Hopefully, I would be going there this year also.
As I said earlier I tasted this cake in a party, so I had this cake with everyone who was present in the party. No doubt, majority of them were not known to me, but while celebrating, we all enjoyed the party together. I was familiar there with only one person, and that was my friend – Barack Obama.
Well, I believe this cake is very special. It is because for the first time in my life, I tasted a cake which was red in colour. Moreover, it was 4 tier cake. And interesting this about this cake is that Red velvet cake is colored with beets, instead of artificial food colouring. This cake is also called as “red Waldorf cake,” “red carpet cake,” “red mystery cake,” “flame cake,” and “$300 cake”.

Talk about a wish that you couldn’t accomplish for a long time
My biggest goal at the moment is to study for my PhD in Australia. It is something which is very important to me because it will literally change my life forever, and could determine a considerably different future for me as opposed to staying here in my own country.
I’ve been planning and working towards this goal for the last couple of years, even since I finished my undergraduate degree and began to look at the employment opportunities, both here and also the opportunities to work in countries like Australia, Canada, the USA and the UK. It was at that point that I decided that studying and working abroad was something I really wanted to do in my life.
I don’t know if the working part will be something permanent or possibly only for a few years – a lot will depend on exactly what happens when I get there, and if there are long term opportunities available for me.
However, once I graduate from my master’s program, which I’m completing at the moment, I hope to be accepted into a doctoral research program at Queensland University, in Australia.

Secondly, it would be an amazing personal experience in terms of growing and developing as an individual. So I’m really looking forward to finally achieving it.

Cricket is a globally popular sport and is played usually between two teams. I also like the sport very much for different reasons.
Cricket once was considered as the sport for the rich. But with the change of time, it has become common for all and even the poorest country of the world may have a cricket team of their own. In cricket, usually 11 players are in each of the sides. After tossing, the winning team usually decides to bat first or allows the opposition to bat (depends on pitch condition) and continues the sport. The batsmen try to hit the ball and run between the bowling lines to make runs. When the ball reaches the boundary line be getting in touch with the field, it is considered as four runs and if the ball crosses the boundary line from above the head, then it is considered as six runs. The game ends either when the bowling is finished or when the batsmen are made out by the fielding team. When one team is made all out or the bowling times are over, then the other team comes to the batting and tries to make upper score than the previous team. The team who makes highest score turns the winner.
Usually, I prefer to watch the sport on a television but when I get free moments in my college I play cricket with my college friends. I prefer to watch the sports on television as it is easier to watch by sitting on a sofa or chair or sometimes by lying in bed. When I go to play cricket, I have to take lots of preparations like adding my cricket pads on legs, wearing gloves and helmet etc. which seems troublesome for me. But due to security measures, I have to wear all the gears as once I was hit by the ball in my elbow and fortunately did not have any serious injury with the hit. Thereby, I prefer enjoying the matches in television and if there are chances, I go to the stadium to watch the sport live.
Playing cricket is not a big deal and it is played on a large open field. Anyone with prior knowledge can play cricket. But before hitting the ball with a cricket bat, you are to learn few necessary rules about the sport. Firstly, you have to be aware of the rules of taking runs. Secondly, you have to be mentally prepared to abide by the decisions taken by the umpires, and finally, you have to respect all the opponents during the play. When you are on batting, you have to be attentive to the ball delivery. Before hitting the ball, you are to decide in which direction you are going to send the ball. If you are on the bowling side, you have to make sure that the ball is delivered on the right line following a standard length.

Describe A well paid job
Well, its been my ambition, goal or whatever the best word I can use to it that I want to become an investment Banker in one of the well reputed worldwide banks; like HSBC, Citi Bank, American Express etc. I have the great passion for managing finance and want to work in the category of that field of highest level, where I can sense more challenging tasks, responsibilities, especially for some sinking financial business companies, I want to strive hard to make them float and thrive in a calm sea. However, there has been lot of requirements I have to bring in myself. Nevertheless, I have worked with great businessmen and managed their portfolio superbly by investing their money in international market in real estate, mutual funds, in gold, as well as by guiding them to invest in developing countries through their scheme of Foreign Direct Investment. So by being free lancer and investment consultant at a corporate level, I have been working; however, I want to see myself to work on a highest cadre of this business. I have got the idea of becoming an investment banker through my client who has been respecting me as if I had been working in an international bank. So then onward, I started dreaming and backing myself to bring that in reality.
